FALL SEMESTER CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

INTERMEDIATE Musical Theater Performance Class (4th-6th Grade)

This performance class is an opportunity for students to experience auditioning, rehearsing, and performing in a musical. Auditions will take place during the first class, and everyone will be part of the action! Throughout this course we will prepare and rehearse a 30 minute, fully staged show, with costumes, for our families. Please note that this is a two day class that provides over 30 hours of theater time!

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical KIDS, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

AND Tuesdays 4:45pm-6:15pm - Sept. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30/ Oct. 7, 21, 28/ Nov. 4, 11

PLUS, MANDATORY TECH/DRESS REHEARSALS on Thurs. Nov. 13th from 4:45pm-7:15pm

NO CLASSES: Sept. 1/ Oct. 13, 14

PERFORMANCES: Friday, Nov. 14th @ 7:00pm AND Saturday, Nov. 15th @ 2:00pm and 3:15pm (Students must be able to perform at all shows)

FAMILY SHOW TICKETS: $15.00 each and will be on sale closer to show time!

BEGINNING Musical Theater Performance Class (1st-4th Grade)

This performance class is for our younger students who are just beginning their musical theater journey!

Auditions will take place during the first class, and everyone will be part of the action! Throughout this course we will prepare and rehearse a 30 minute, staged show for our families. Since this is a beginning class we will use minimal set and costume pieces, allowing us to focus on training the basics of acting, singing and dance, BUT, everyone will recieve a show shirt that they will wear during our final performance!

Our class musical will be announced this week and it will be a “barking” good time! “101” percent, guaranteed!

CLASSES: Thursdays 5:00pm-6:15pm - Sept. 11, 18, 25/ Oct. 2, 9, 23, 30/ Nov. 6, 20/ Dec. 4

PLUS, MANDATORY TECH REHEARSALS on Wed. Dec. 10 and Thurs. Dec. 11 from 5:00-7:00pm

NO CLASSES: Oct. 16/ Nov. 13, 27

PERFORMANCES: Friday, December 12th @ 6:30pm and 7:30pm (Students must be able to perform at both shows)

Play Performance Class (4th-6th Grade)

This performance class is an opportunity for students to experience auditioning, rehearsing, and performing in a play. Auditions will take place during the first class, and everyone will be part of the action! Throughout this course we will prepare and rehearse a 30 minute, fully staged show, with costumes, for our families. No experience necessary! Over 23 hours of theater time!

This spring’s play will be a comedy and selected, based on the total number of students registered by August 24th.

CLASSES: Wednesdays - 5:00-7:00pm

DATES: September 17th - December 3rd NO CLASS: Oct. 15/Nov. 26

MANDATORY Technical Rehearsal on Friday, Dec. 5th from 5:00-7:30pm

PERFORMANCE:  Saturday, April 26th at 10:30am

Intermediate Acting & Improv Class (7th-12th Grade)

This class is perfect for the junior high and high school student that wants to improve their acting and improv skills for upcoming auditions and shows throughout the year!

We will work to build on your fundamental acting skills through theater games and acting exercises. We will also tackle character development through scenework and monologues and learn about the art of improv through short form improv games.

On our last day of class we will invite family and friends in for our end of semester mini-showcase.

Jr. High/High School Improv Workshop (Rising 7th - Rising 12th Grade)

Are you ready to bring the funny! This workshop will provide you with a taste of all things Improv! We will work on learning the art of improv through short-form games and warm-ups. Improv is great for all experience levels and helps students both on the stage and in life! Students will perform for their families at the end of the workshop. Snack provided!
